Day 5...The Last Day - VBS Weird Animals at NorthWest Bible Church in Spring Texas

Day 5...The Last Day - VBS Weird Animals at NorthWest Bible Church in Spring Texas
Last day of our Weird Animals Stage

Today our children will hear and learn the story of Ananias being asked by God to restore Saul's sight.  At this time Saul was a persecutor of Christians and Ananias was fearful of him, but God asks Ananias to reach out to Saul.  Ananias needed to know that Even when your afraid... Jesus loves you.  God was bigger than Saul and he used Ananias to heal him.  Ananias was courageous even though he was afraid.
As a child there are many things our kids might be afraid of like thunderstorms, a bully at school, or telling others about Christ. We finished off this week by reminding them that Jesus is always there to help us and guide us through our trials. "Don't be afraid...Take courage, I am here!"   Matthew 14:27
We hope that when these kids go home that they would continue to be reminded not to forget God Sightings.  So lets focus on things that can't actually be seen like the smell of a flower or the wind in the trees.
Today was CRAZY HAIR day.
Kids wore their crazy hair, showing everyone that it's okay to be different. They will have been creative and unique styling their hair. Showing off how being different can be fun. That being different makes us unique and special and that's a good thing because God made us that way.  If God wanted us to be a carbon copies, He would have made us all the same. God didn't make us carbon copies of each other. He made some of us are short or tall, skinny or fat, some have no hair or we have different colors of hair, eyes and skin. We even speak different languages.  We have different talents, being good at sports, dance, singing, playing an instrument, some like to work with our hands fixing things or even healing people or animals. Some like to invent things while others teach. Some of us are shy and some are great speakers. So I could go on, but the main thing I'm saying is that God loves us because we are his children.  God loves us not based on our performance or how perfect we are. God loves us and accepts us as we are!

I had to share this picture of the kids after hearing the gospel message, then wrote their names on the cross. What a beautiful picture of God's redeeming love for each of us!

How To Pray for our Children......

Pray that they will ask Jesus into their hearts.  That they will remember what they had learned this week at VBS Weird Animals. To know how much God loves us. To know it's okay to be different.  To know that God is always with us and we don't have to be afraid.  To tell others about God's love and that Jesus is their Lord and Savior.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
Romans 1:16

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
