Day 3 - VBS Weird Animals at NorthWest Bible Church in Spring Texas

Day 3 - VBS Weird Animals at NorthWest Bible Church in Spring Texas

  Today was "Picture Day"

The kids were able to put on their happy, beautiful faces not only for pictures, but for knowing that God loves them no matter how weird we think we are.  To God, our own special weirdness is what makes us unique and beautiful. That we are God's children and He is always with us and gives us His unconditional love.

Well, we are already halfway through and it was so fun!! Over 200 kids are excited to be here, singing, dancing, and they are excited about knowing that No matter what...Jesus Loves Them!  WOW!!!  That is so awesome to see.

Today they will be looking at John 13:1-17

Jesus Washes His Disciples’ Feet

13 It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”
Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
“No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
“Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”
10 Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.” 11 For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.
12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them." and talking about Jesus stepping down from some one with power and authority to wash the dusty, dirty feet of the disciples.  Jesus was giving us an example of how to treat and reach out to others.  So the children are learning to.  "Do to others as you would like them to do to you." Luke 6:31
"God...loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins." (1 John 4:10)
The children are also learning about God Sighting.  Helping them understand that others can see God in them by showing God's awesome love to others.  They can do this by helping with a younger sibling, or helping a neighbor.  These are ways that they can be a shining light in this world and let others see Jesus through them.

They are learning what it means to believe in Jesus.

God loves us so much that he sent his Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for us.  Jesus died and took the punishment for all the wrong things we do.  But Jesus is stronger than death, and he came back to life! Jesus wants to be our friend forever.  If we ask him to, he'll take away the wrong things we do. But Jesus is stronger than death, and he came back to life!  Jesus wants to be our friend forever, if we ask him to, he'll take away the wrong things we've done and fill our lives with his love.  Jesus will always be with us and will help us make the right choices.  If we believe in Jesus and ask him to forgive us, someday we'll live with him forever in heaven.

How To Pray for our Children......

Pray that they will have a responsible attitude in all their interpersonal relationships.

Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. Daniel 6:3

Pray that they will respect those in authority over them.

Submission to Governing Authorities

13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.  Romans 13:1
