Repairman falls down elevator shaft in Financial District

Tom is an elevator repairman. He fell about 25 feet down an elevator shaft in the Financial District in NY, and, is seriously injured after falling to the basement level in 61 Broadway, an office building near Rector St.
He was working in the shaft near the first floor, when he suddenly fell about 11:20 a.m. He apparently landed on his head when he hit the floor in a basement level.“He was real bad,” the police said. “He was in and out of consciousness the whole time.”

A team of cops from the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit and several firefighters were able to pull him from the shaft before noon.

Praise the Lord for all the quick the team of cops from the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit and firefighters that were able to pull him from the shaft. Also , Praise the Lord for the team of doctor and nurses that worked on him. The Good Lord has a plan for Tom. We don't know what it is as of yet, but He saved Tom's life for a reason when no one believed he would live.

Since this happened, he had 16 stitches on his head and 3 surgeries on his back neck and they also a Tracheotomy to help him breath. They say they do this when there is a (Spinal cord injury in the neck area). Tom still has no feeling in his waist or legs. Everyone said that it is a miracle that he is still alive.

The trachea is still in, but they did cap it. The doctors don't want to remove it since he still has problems breathing. They caped it so that he can eat solid food, to gain some strength back. Tom lost 40 pounds since this happened in April. He has little movement in his arms, He can slightly feel his hands but can not move them. His shoulders keep on popping out of socket and his migraines have been making his rehab slow and painful.

Tom. was transferred to the Kessler Institute For Rehabilitation at 1199 Pleasant Valley Way West, Orange, New Jersey. He will be there between 1-2 years. Please pray for his healing.

I don't know why Tom is still alive, only that it is a miracle that he is. God has a plan for all of us, and in time we see what it is for Tom.
