PILLSBURY HOMEMADE CALZONE



Ingredients

1 can Pillsbury® refrigerated classic pizza crust
1/4 cup ricotta cheese (can substitute ricotta for cream cheese) 

1/2 package of pepperoni (about 12 slices)
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped onions
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon oregano




    Step 1Heat oven to 425°F. Lightly spray cookie sheet with cooking spray or foil pie pan.
    (NO PRE-HEATING WITH THE FLAVORWAVE OVEN)

Unroll dough onto cookie sheet. (I used Avon Calzone press) Starting at center, press out dough round shape, about 7 inches. Spoon in ricotta or cream cheese onto the center of dough, spreading to within 1/2 inch of edges. Top each with pepperoni,onions, green and red peppers. Sprinkle garlic and oregano. Fold dough in half over filling; press edges firmly with fork to seal or fold Avon press and place in foil pie pan or cookie sheet. Prick tops with fork to vent.




  • You can change your fillings to whatever you like...chicken or pork, cheddar cheese and BBQ sauce, or leftover grilled steak & grilled veggies, etc. Change cheese to mozzarella, cheddar, Mexican or whatever cheese is in the fridge. It's your homemade calzone, so make it your way, even if it is just a cheese calzone. So be creative and enjoy!

Bake 11 to 13 minutes or until golden brown. (Flavorwave oven 10 minutes)
